16. Nah. I decided against the Bigsby.
Would have left the two stopbar stud holes there. No way to put the trem on without having those ugly holes just above it. Meh.

13. Yeah baby !!!!
Me too !! Blew my mind that this was the "Hello It's Me" "I Saw the Light" guy and began buying his aldums the next day--or so.

In fact I grew up in St. Louis. (I'm guessing from yourt handle you reside there?)

Saw Todd at the Fox in 74 or 75 and it altered my brain chemistry...forever.

Cheers

17. That was a Utopia concert. no?
I seem to remember they were tourin RA...

I saw the "Todd" tour when the 6 piece (1st) Utopia debuted in the second set-

it was awesome. the solo portion was first. just him and a tape machine... he did "Sons Of 1984 with the NY crowd playing from the house left speakers and then the LA crowd joined in on the house right speakers... then we all sang the chorus at the end vamp.

yeah,,, like i said up there- he's no fool ;)

15. Still going strong, too...
If you saw him on Politically Incorrect a few years back, you'd realize what an extraordinary critter he is.

What other rocker would record Gilbert & Sullivan's "The Lord Chancellor's Nightmare" from Iolanthe?

He also produced an album for the Tubes.

For a guy to have hits so diverse as "Bang the Drum All Day" and "We Gotta Get You A Woman" to "Cold Morning Light" and "Can We Still Be Friends" says it all. He's one of the true geniuses of pop music, and he's done it with an ease and deftness that's unparalleled.

21. Correct! the hint was about the other album.
the first of two albums done under another name. XTC produced the 2nd album themselves and IMHO it didn't shine like the first.

Story about Skylarking: Todd and Andy Partridge almost came to blows shortly after they started recording. This was at Todds studio in Woodstock. Todd gave the ultimatum- "We can either do this your way or the right way. when you decide you want to do this the right way I'll be at my house right up the hill"... Andy conceded and clenched his teeth the whole way. Later to decide that Skylarking is one of his favorite XTC records!
