12. Hey Bearfan
sorry about our dismal Bears yesterday... losing to the Lions! How embarrassing is that? The only good thing is that GB lost too.

United States Army Communication Command, Battery Parrott, Fort Monroe, Virginia, 1974-1976.
John
I went in at 17 years, three months and three days old. It was either that or spend two more years at Arthur Hill High (I graduated GED). I was a complete Beetle Bailey, but the Army and I managed to survive our mutual experience.
Somehow, I also earned an honorable discharge.

27. I'm sure we did we ran every freakin where
I really didn't get to see much of it but on Parents day my folks came and took me to a nearby hotel. I told them I wanted a 12 poack of beer and two pizzas. I settled in for a night of blissful solitude away from the Army and what was on HBO but "Stripes" filmed at Ft. Knox. The irony was terrible.

I've got my retirement papers -dated 1998,(and a few congratulation on your advancment to Senior NCO and a LoC from 1995!) signed by a real president, not the impersonator that's squatting on the big chair right now...

I wouldn't mind seeing the country play "Anchors Aweigh" on him, the cowardly, drunken, scurvy wretch...

29. SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRT!
My last USAR drill will (hopefully) be in March or April. The day I get my 20 year letter, I plan to take a day off from work just so I can take it to Liverpool, NY, and fill out my paperwork.

DISCHARGE, not Retired Reserve. Fuck them.

A couple years ago, I might have advised my son to join the National Guard when he turned 17 - for the college money, etc. Not anymore. I'll take a second job passing out carts at (the corporation that will not be named) before I let him do that. Fuck them, and fuck George W. Bush's stupid-assed war.
