Do you LOVE or HATE the smell of tar? |
|
Lots of people have old memories brought back when they smell tar for some reason (more than other smells). They usually love or hate the smell depending on what the memory is.
I love it. It reminds me of visiting the beach as a kid.

They were tarring the roads in my neighborhood a few years ago during the summer, and my apartment was an old one with a swamp cooler rather than central air. I was physically ill and couldn't sleep worth a damn after 5am for over a week while that was going on.

It reminds me of my freshman year of high school (Lanier in Austin, TX).
They were retarring the entire roof surface that year, and the school has an unusual atrium design. We had to walk outside to get anywhere, and that smell was CONSTANT.
Yuck yuck yuck. FSC
