Anyone here a Kiwanis member? |
|
Considering joining and would value anyone's opinion in terms of their experiences!
Thanks!

1. I was in the last city |
|
I lived in
and,
I was the "Key Club" sponsor for a High School group when I was (briefly) a teacher.
Kiwanis are pretty good as far as service clubs go. They try to do a lot for the community. They are, be warned, very, very conservative.

3. I was afraid of that... |
|
How does it manifest itself? Are they public about their politics, or do they just attract generally conservative members?

My wife and I have recently gone into business for ourselves (franchise owners), and were looking for a business organization that helped the community to join.

8. I guess each club has its own personality |
|
We sang the corny songs, but did away with the Rotary Ann thing. Our club did attract conservative members, but it was more about service than business. Business was a given since these were all successful people. I would say that it is a great way for a new business owner to network (I think that's why most people do join).
While our club had mostly conservative members, it was pretty apolitical when it came to the meetings, unless both sides could be represented.
