2. YES!
I'm a Southern transplant in Minnesota. Please shed your Midwestern sensibilities. It's oh so much fun. I wish people around me would shed their sensibilities. I'd feel more comfortable and at home.

4. Actually I have very few of the Midwestern sensibilities

Some folks around here are just wrapped way too tight!

Now if we could teach Minnesotans how to merge!

8. that merging thing is something we will never have figured out
because merging lanes were designed by furners from the coasts. as for the other merging i think we can hold our own with the coasts- i mean what else is there to do when it gets 25 below?

Come in this direction and you will find Midwestern sensibilities out to the 200 mile offshore limit...here and there, from my perspective mostly there, but here, too...

Best to wait until after Labor Day. Then your shoes will match that new winter purse you just bought.

(never was a Waahndy fan)
Not so much into porno
Not originally from here, therefore no Fargo accent
Unable to use a snowblower due to disabilities
Am a walking hot flash, shorts and t-shirts in winter

Before I moved out here to Wobbly-land, I 1]lived in Kansas City, 2]spent a year in a Minnie-soda college... you're a damn site more inviting a human than many I met, believe me! :applause:

:wow: Hey! I got it: You are a stealth human! :woohoo:

20. NO! Please don't. I LOVE us MWerners!
I grew up in the MW, born in Kansas and raised in CO and MT.

I love my MW common sense about things and the outlook I inherited from my MW ancestors.

I've become a bit of a glamourpuss, even, but my MW upbringining keeps my head on straight. I can count on my other MW friends to set me firmly back in reality every time, if necessary, and I LOVE that.

23. Glamour puss?
Now THERE's an Upper Midwest expression, if I ever heard one. My father's family (NW Minnesota) used it all the time. Do you also refer to cereal as "breakfast food"?

21. My midwestern sensibilities have served me well here on the East Cost,.
Edited on Sun Aug-28-05 10:34 AM by amandabeech
That is, when I'm not taking heavy teasing for them.

Be friendly. Be honest. Be fair. Work hard. Treat others as you would have them treat your. Clean up your mess. Admit your mistakes. Apologize.

Frankly, I think that there should be midwestern re-education camps for some of these folks on the East Coast.

How could I forget? Be modest about your own accomplishments and share the glory with those who helped you.

25. It was kind of spurred by that post in GD
"Picture worth a thousand words"

Young children were photographed with a sign that had the word "asshole" on it. I agreed with the sign, but not necessarily with kids carrying that particular sign (because of the cuss word)...I said something about it shocking my midwestern sensibilities.

I know, too much information...

And the Vikings will win in Detroit in February
