Weather Channel: "One of the most intense hurricanes in recorded history"
Edited on Sun Aug-28-05 03:03 PM by Hissyspit
(history is by definition 'recorded,' but, still, they are making a point...)

Click here for information on Betsy, which hit New Orleans pretty much directly in 1965. It was big but not like this one:
http://www.usatoday.com/weather/resources/askjack/2003-10-09-hurricane-betsy_x.htm

Weather Channel's Jim Cantore disturbed by the evacuation problems. "People on the road a little late in the game... The worst thing is to see a disaster within a disaster."

2. The weather channel people have been saying that they will leave the
coastline areas earlier than usual. Knowing Cantore, he will stay as close to the coast as possible, but he is no fool either. Buildings WILL be destroyed.

3. He won't leave until they get the obligatory shot

of him holding on to a street sign with the surf pounding the shore behind him. It must be in his contract.

6. This is so awful,
it is hard to keep watching the weather.
Thanks Hissyspit. I like Cantore, seem to remember him having more hair... Thats how often I watch TV.

I pray it weakens.
