Apple users PLEASE notify Apple for promoting Hate and torture
this was posted by capriccio (291 posts)

I just noticed that Apple is helping to promote yuks through torture, political imprisonment and extreme Rightwing yahooism by offering free downloads of the Gitmo Club widget.

If this bothers you as much as it bothers me (and as much as it SHOULD bother Apple) here's the link for letting Apple know.

6. Again. Apple isn't promoting hate and torture any more than
Goodwill promotes misogyny for having Eminem in its used CD bin. They seem to post links to any widget submitted, independent of content, so long as it conforms to their tech and copyright rules.

I'd rather they not censor based on message, because, remember, it could work both ways. What if they decided to pull an Iraq war casualty counter as "treasonous?"

8. FWIW, apple has a disclaimer
"Apple is providing links to these applications as a courtesy, and makes no representations regarding the applications or any information related thereto. Any questions, complaints or claims regarding the applications must be directed to the appropriate software vendor."

I think a better target or a tandem target should be the vendor.

14. Rush loves Apple
Flipping through the dial one day I stopped for a bit of self-flaggelation and heard him talking about how much he loves Apple products. This was around the time that Jobs gave his speech about the future of radio being in Podcasting.

I'm sure Apple's lack of a right click confuses most Freepers though.

16. Thanks for the control click hint, emulatorloo.
I'm a brand new Mac user with a one-button mouse, and I just couldn't understand how there wasn't a right mouse button. (I'm a programmer who has used Windows for years and years.) I was almost certain that there was a way around it, but I hadn't looked into it yet. Now I don't have to!

(This was the only thing that I disliked about my Mac up to this point.)

17. I know, loyal Mac user here, but
that is the most often complaint I hear from people who say they won't use Macs for this reason.

12. agreed. I'm just pointing that apple has a disclaimer, which
means that's probably the only response we'll get as well.

I think BOTH targets should be used, IMHO.
