Cell Phone in the bathroom.. |
|
Ok, I thought I'd seen it all.
I go into the work bathroom that the company I'm with shares with another company.
I go into a stall and hear this mumbling. Thought it was strange but figure if the gal needs to talk to herself while using the facilities that's her issue.
I then realize she's having a conversation while on the toilet. :eyes:
Is it just me or is this just a bit too much. You can't put the f'ing phone down for 30 seconds to go pee????
I wish I had some wild gas to release to let the other person on the phone hear what I thought of that

1. I've done that many times. |
|
It's not like you can't put down the phone for 30 seconds but if I'm talking to someone I'm close to, there's no reason to say, "Oh, can I call you back? I have to pee or (....)." Why not just talk and relieve yourself at the same time?

Like reading, talking, writing--So maybe that's why I don't have a problem with this.

33. There's a woman at work who mutters to herself. |
|
Edited on Mon Aug-29-05 09:40 PM by Blue in Portland
I know lots of people who talk to themselves, but what this woman does is a crazy sounding form of muttering nonsense to herself. I would rather be in the bathroom with someone on a cell phone any day than be alone in the restroom with her.
In less enlightened times she would have probably been accused of witchcraft. Kind of ironic that she gives me the creeps.
Edited to add: I like to multi-task in the can, too. That's why I started responding to this post, but then I went off in a different direction. :hi:

My cats.
If at any given time a human is in the bathroom, and a cat is in the house, said cat will immediately rush to the bathroom. Two of them spend a great deal of time yakking away and fussing the whole time.

3. That happened to me at a Target bathroom a while ago. |
|
She was happily chatting away in the next stall. I have a cell, and I usually don't get too bugged by others using them, but I think a public bathroom is a bit much.

I guess she thinks being behind a door in the bathroom gave her some kind of privacy shield and she couldn't be heard. :eyes:

7. I've had the phone ring while I was in there before |
|
I told them where I was - and called them back in a second. I've also told them to hold etc.. and got out of the bathroom to talk.
To hear them carrying on a full blown conversation was over the top for me.

9. Cell phones are a DISEASE |
|
I mean fuck, the way people act, you would think the species BARELY made it through millions of years of evolution without CONSTANT communication with one another.
MUST we CHAT all the time? Every where you go, people are yammering on those damn things, and worst of all, trying to drive while doing it.
I suppose talking on the crapper won't affect the quality of one's product, but it's inherently rude on some level.

WE ARE....they are just the symptom of our loss of good manners...
And I've wondered the same things you have...how did we ever survive without them?

I can't tell you how many toilets I heard flush. After I found out I was going to get laid off, I just hung up on them as soon as I heard the toilet flush, or tell them to make sure to wipe front to back.

|
Small talk while we're washing our hands etc.. yes, but a full blown conversation - NO.
If you are so attached to your cell phone that you can't take the few minutes it takes to go to the bathroom without that fucking thing attached to your ear you have a problem.
Do what you want in your own space but spare the rest of us your fucking need to talk all the time about stupid stuff while there are others who are taking care of their personal business.

I was paged for work one night at 0200 and when I called the guy back he answered his cell phone WHILE HE WAS PISSING - I could distinctly hear it - I said - ARE YOU IN THE BATHROOM? And he mumbled something and got himself out of there - I tell you it was OUTRAGEOUS.

it's like all freaking common sense goes out the window - it would not be acceptable for me to stand right behind someone on a pay phone listening yet people think nothing of standing behind me in line chatting about the most personal things - I AM SICK OF IT
