Anyone see HBO's (much-hyped) Rome last night?

I'd love to hear your opinions. I got sensory overload about 30 minutes into it (was the crucifixion scene really necessary?)

since HBO canceled Carnivale'.

3. I shut it off after 45 minutes of nothing happening

My thoughts: looked nice enough, but the acting was crap and dialogue was stiff. How can someone manage to make the story of Julius and Pompey boring!?

Watched last night and I think I'm not tuning in for the rest. Tedious is one adjective that comes to mind.

But there was a lot of exposition. To be fair, it was the first episode.

7. Only took me 30 minutes to learn

that "Rome" is not for me. I shut it off.

good. Same thing, different costumes. That one last 1 minute.
