1. For me, it's all right to lie about your age when
Edited on Mon Aug-29-05 07:34 PM by CaliforniaPeggy
lying doesn't involve you in breaking the law...I know, I'm hopelessly square...

And I'm being just a little hypocritical here...I did do some under-age drinking many, many years ago...

I did have alcohol with my fancy dinner dates many years ago when I was in college...

I voted other, BTW...for what it's worth...

7. That's the way it should be!
Those are the times to do whatever possible, even some "bad" things!

A question--You say three years away. Did you not graduate or did you finish in 3 years or did you commute the final year? Just curious. No big deal if you don't want to comment.

13. Yes, I agree, that is the time to do stuff like that...
And I have NO PROBLEM answering your question...I did graduate, first off...

The original plan was that I was going to go to my college, San Jose State for two years ,and live at home for that time...

Then I was supposed to transfer to UC Berkeley or someplace like that and live away for two years...

But I made a new friend that fall at SJS...and she lived in a private dorm..She took me by there and I got a real good look at it...

And boy did I like the look of the place..I went home and told my parents that I didn't want to transfer away, that I loved SJS, and I wanted to live on campus for three years, starting my sophomore year...

And to my complete surprise, they said yes...They were extremely overprotective of me...and those three years were necessary to become the adult female I finally suceeded in becoming...

I had several boyfrends...got my first kiss, and make-out session, and finished up getting married the year I graduated...

What a trip it was! 40 years ago...thanks for asking! :toast:

16. Well, congrats to you!
It seems like that really was the real "life experience" for you and I think that's great.
And props to your parents for letting you "go". :hi:

8. Always lie about your age and always add at least 10 years. Then
people will always tell you look great. If they don't try 15 years.

9. That's exactly what I have said!!
I'd rather have them say "wow, she looks great for 43!!" than "damn, she looks old at 25!!"

10. Why lie?
If you managed to get to the age you are now--it's a great accomplishment. Hold your head up and proudly say I'm (your age)!

11. Several times
1) To get the senior discount at restaurants

2) To get a Happy Meal at a fast food restaurant

3) To join the Red Hat Society

4) To pretend to be younger when you're online and hanging
out with twenty-somethings. (NOT with children, mind you, but to be able to talk about things that young adults do, and not sound like an old fogie)

12. twenty-somethings, eh?
well, that gives you lots of leeway. Several ages are divisible by 20. And "something" covers a WHOLE lot of territory. ;-)

14. Considering I'll be 50
on my next birthday, it merely means that I often fit in more with these younger people when we start talking computer speak and such!

18. I can't understand..
.... why anyone would ever want to lie about their age.

It's not like I can't run a background check on you and find the truth, and then where are we? :)

21. bwahaha...
benny said he was 39 all the way out the back door i.e.

Q: Why did Jack Benny always claim he was 39?

A: Jack claimed on one of the radio shows to be 36. It got a laugh, so they continued using it. Later he became 37, then 38, then 39. There were plans to have a big production for Jack's 40th birthday show, but people started contacting him that he shouldn't turn 40, as it was too big of a milestone. Thus on the 2-14-54 program, they celebrate Jack's 40th birthday. Toward the end of the show, Jack gets a telegram from his sister, Florence, saying that Jack was actually born a year later than originally thought, making him...39. Jack phones home to Rochester, and asks him to get out his birth certificate. He asks him what is written in the spot that says "Date of Birth." Rochester replies, "A hole." "A hole?" exclaims Jack. "Yeah Boss, we erased it once too often!"
