Important Question for DeposetheBoyKing
What brand of basmati rice do you guys buy in your house?

I'm currently going with Kohinoor, comes in a blue bag. There's a little Indian grocery like a block from me. I asked the proprietor for recommendation, asked what they cooked in their own house and they said this brand.

I figured they're on the up and up since it's not the most expensive brand in the store, and they could easily have steered me that way.

1. We really don't have any favorites
I do like the Zebra brand, but I think they're probably all good. I think even the basmati rice sold at Costco must be good; I always see "Desi" people buying it! Make sure to let it soak in cold water for 15-20 minutes before cooking.

3. Good.
It fluffs up really nicely when you soak it!

4. I never soak mine, either. I got elephant brand last time.
I usually buy about 10 pounds at a time, and store it in a big Tupperware canister.

I love that stuff though.

I will be cooking some tomorrow night when I make a nice stirfry
