I need a little relaxation. A dislocated knee and New Orleans family.
Not only did I dislocate my patella today, but virtually my entire family lives in the New Orleans area: Metairie, Kenner, Uptown, Slidell, Chalmette, Houma, and Gentilly East. We own land and houses in St. Bernard Parish, near Audubon Park, and in Mississippi. I have a cousin who apparently didn't leave his house... by the levee... in Slidell. He sent his wife and child away, but I hope my aunt encouraged him to leave in time.

I don't mean to make my situation seem more important than anything in the news, I just wanted to ventilate much of what's on my mind right now as I'm hung up on my bed at the moment.

Writer.

2. My knee is hurt, but otherwise I'm in good spirits.
I'm just a bit worried now that I'm reading more about the devasation. The Twin Span is gone! That's a major piece of artifice that's simply gone!

I have heard from my dad. He escaped to the east in time. Not sure about the other parts of my family though.

Thanks for your good thoughts.

5. I've dislocated both knees a couple times. NO fun. Ice, rest, and not too
much of that keeping it straight shit. Use it, loosen it up once the swelling subsides. In fact, I dislocated it the night before I traveled to China. The upside was that airport wheelchair service ROCKS. And I still climbed up to the great wall of china and did a lot of shopping.

More importantly I hope your family will be fine, and my best wishes to all of you..

9. I'm sorry about your family.
Two hours ago, I would have told you to hook yourself up with some pain relievers and a copy of the premier of "Prison Break," but after watching said premier, er, it's not exactly restful. It might take your mind off of your problems, though.
