Hurricane Diary: The Storm photos.

PIER AND DOCK, NORMAL DAY. Aug. 23.


PIER AND DOCK, HIGHER THAN NORMAL WATER AT TOP EDGE OF SEAWALL. About 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28. We have a porch swing between the upper deck support posts. Had drinks out there a couple of hours after this was taken. Not so the next day. ;-)


PIER AND DOCK UNDER 4' OF WATER. Water about 20' beyond seawall into yard. "Trash" tide-line visible at water's edge. Makes good mulch.


HEIGHT OF KATRINA. STORM SURGE & RAIN. Opposite shore of bay no longer visible. Horizontal rain. Winds 75-80 mph.
Some scary sh*t.
You can see a piece of lumber floating by left of the tree. We got LOTS of lumber.

These pictures are truly scary...especially the last one with the storm surge at its height...since at the time of course you didn't know just how high it would end up....
