This kitty has the SOFTEST fur
And he's such a love. He's letting me rest my foot on his tummy now and is rubbing his face on my toes.

1. Does he hae Russian Blue or Nebelung in him?
My Evita is the same way with the really soft fur and gorgeous green eyes. Vet thinks she has some Nebelung in her (That's the long hair Russian Blues)

2. I don't know
He was born in a barn outside Derby, Kansas. There are loads of cats running around that place; who knows where he got his gorgeousness?

I've never heard of the Nebelung; will have to Google that!

3. Nebelungs are decendants of Russian Blues
Basically they're a long-haired Russian Blue. They have sorta neat shaped faces and their fur is almost clear at the tips. My Evita has the same exact fur, eye color and facial structure of the Nebes but without a doubt she's 100% mutt.

4. Boy, these are beautiful cats!
Monty is also a mutt, but it makes you wonder, doesn't it?

7. This is my Evita - she has that same fluffy tail like the Nebes

You can't see it in the picture but from your link she has that same exact tail. You won't find a softer cat than her but her hair is so freaking baby fine and when the sunshine strikes her she looks like she has a white aura to her from the almost clear fur on the tips

8. I actually saw a picture in my Googling that resembled her
Edited on Tue Aug-30-05 12:14 PM by DeposeTheBoyKing
Let me look for it. She just HAS to have some Nebelung in her!

EDIT: I can't find that picture, for some stupid reason. But Evita does look like a Nebelung!

5. Monty's a beauty.
He looks like Minz, the mother of our Wiley and Excellent Boy Cat Named Ginger.

Beautiful photo, DTBK! (Those eyes!)

6. He is so loving
He's very quiet and isn't a lapsitter, but wants to be near us at all times. Right now he's sitting on the arm of the sofa next to me and putting his paw on my arm.

14. I have a cat that looks just like the ones in this thread.

She is also the most plush kitty I've ever known. She has this incredibly soft, thick undercoat.

I've always wondered if she had Russian blue or some other purebred blood in her somewhere.

On edit: I never heard of a Nebelung before, but some of the kitties in that link look EXACTLY like my cat. Even the description of the thick undercoat is totally right on.

We got her as a young kitten from a shelter, extremely friendly like she'd been handled from birth, and the shelter people couldn't tell us anything about her. Now I am really wondering, after reading this thread, if she was a show kitty that got lost or something all those years ago...
