OK I finally finished 'Economic Hit Man' at lunch today. All I can say is: |
|
Hugo Chavez better watch his ass.
Perkins' assertion is pretty much that Saddam's stubbornness saved Chavez for the time being. Bush couldn't do Afghanistan, Iraq and Venezuela all at the same time. (But he did start the ball rolling - remember the three-day coup?)
And now Pat Robertson just happens to let fly with his remarks. Coincidence? I think not.

Paula Zahn's question about bringing up Chavez was the exact same question I heard two callers on a local talk radio show bring up.

the country is a shambles, we're bogged down in a miniature Viet Nam, and they can't even scape up enough troops to handle that situation, never mind Iran and Venezuela. No way, Jose. They just don't have the logistical means to pull off another invasion. And they won't get any backing form the rest of the world, no more "Coalitions of the Willing".

There are more 'targeted' methods they'll try first. So to speak.

with those "good Christian" folks like Pat Robertson giving them ideas, I wouldn't doubt that.
