2. Well, there goes that "liberal Media" excuse |
|
They're actually admitting that much of the media is conservative.
And the US lost because it was a flawed war, fought very poorly, and againts a shiftier apponent. There was no real motivation for the soldiers in that war.

liken themselves to Forrest Gump. When they are congratulating themselves by calling themselves mentally retarded, how are we supposed to insult them! Their idiocy is too strong for our blasters, sir!

4. Best thing EVER: freepers sees symbolism in Forrest Gump |
|
"it was a metaphor for America in the Vietnam era. Forest represents the homey, country, Free Republic posting, patriotic conservative that was naive enough to let the communists win. Jenny represents the innocent and naive liberal who was duped into helping the communists achieve they're goals, and then dies of a lifestyle disease"

then dies of a lifestyle disease
This is probably coming from someone who was angry about what cbs has reagan saying in the tv movie, when it represents what he apparently believes.

6. Oh this is hilarious Walter Cronkite vs...... FOX's Lurie Dhue |
|
As long as Laurie Dhue would be involved, there would have to be an improvement.
It's a very good question. I was a child, but I can tell you how I remember "the way it was." See, there was this news anchor on CBS who would sign off every day by saying "And that's the way it is, November 11, 196X" or whatever. His name was Walter Cronkite. He is still alive and occasionally opens his pie-hole to say something anti-american.
The "His name was Walter Cronkite" is what got me that and the "anti-american" part.
Too funny.

People had sort of tuned out the fact that the McCarthy & HUAC had routed out real communists, and that communism was a clear and present threat to our way of life. The media was taken over and a lot of people didn't know it. Still don't today. There was no one to counter the spin.
Someone should point to them that Reagan spoke out against the "Hollywood Black List" and McCarthyism when he was the president of SAG.

Yesiree, thanks to Fox, those flowers are still being thrown into the streets of Baghdad for our soldiers who liberated them from an evil tyrant.

12. I won’t go to that site… |
|
I won’t go to that site… But I did because, for some reason, it catches my attention when I hear how the military wasn’t allowed to win the Vietnam War because those damn commie politicians tied their hands. So, I went….
Jeeeeesh! Well they actually didn’t go there but the history revisionists have nothing on this group! Would have won because of the media? Who won Tet? Nixon (now some jerks hero!) was hounded out of office? I was a child, but I can tell you how I remember "the way it was."? (Uhhhh..no..you are a child, and you don’t remember or know anything.) We forgot the lessons of McCarthy and HUAC? Didn’t this jerk ever hear of the “Domino theory”? Then, some schmuck at the end says, “Good analysis”
Utter nonsense.
However, I did enjoy all your comments on this site, but there’s one more thing. I never noticed those macabre, pithy little comments they put after their Freeper ID name!
"Moderate Islam Is For Dilettantes" "America has become Soviet Union Lite" "remember, the fish come first" "Exile - Proudly ticking off the left since 1992."
There's a book in there somewhere (about delusional psychopaths)!
That’s almost worth the pain of visiting. Anyone got favorites?

Each time someone on this site lures me to FR, I find myself rapidly becoming angry - could they be more full of shit?
I especially enjoy that one poster repeats the myth (briefly debunked in Slate) that Vietnam Vets were spat upon - and the poster uses "us" and "we" - yes, I'm sure you were there.
I am gravely concerned for our world. It is imperitive that we work to expose these people for the freaks that they are - and hold back consescending commentary in the process, tough though that is...

14. One of them said Nixon was "hounded out of office" |
|
I couldn't stop laughing because that's exactly what my mother always says! It just blows me away every time I hear it. No, what he did was no big deal, but Clinton getting a blow job, now that was so horrible that he deserved to be impeached. (sarcasm off)

Fox News All Stars Go to War!
As Fox New Channel beats the drums of war in this nation's hour of crisis, I thought it would be a fitting tribute to honor all of the Fox All-Stars who sacrificed for us in our Armed Forces.
So I visited the foxnews.com to ensure that I didn't overlook a single one of these martial heroes.
Imagine my surprise at what I found.
Bill O'Reilly?
No military service.
But he was a po' blue collar, working class boy during the Vietnam war. How could that be?
Brit Hume?
Missing in action.
Tony Snow?
Call him Yellow Snow.
Sean Hannity?
Wore a dress during Lebanon and Desert Storm.
Fred Barnes?
Left the foxholes to the atheists.
David Asman?
Call him Candy-ass man.
Shepard Smith?
Couldn't find an enemy comprised of unarmed pedestrians.
Newt Gingrich?
His period kept him from enlisting.
Jim Pinkerton?
Don't ask.
John Gibson, Brian Kilmeade, Mort Kondracke, John Fund and William Kristol?
A veritable platoon-load of pussies.
Not a single one lists military service on his bio.
These are the men who want to send your sons and brothers off to war.
FOX should change its name to CNN - The Chickenhawk News Network.
