I don't hate America, actually. I own a couple of their albums. But you still gotta admit, they wouldn't be around if not for CSN(Y).

But America has a special place in my affections. For all I know, they could be freeperish, but I remember hearing America albums as a kid and loving it.

Maybe my parents had poor taste, but they never played Crosby, Still, and Nash (sometimes Y :)). And I wasn't alive when they were really big. :)

and for the record, I also grew up on them (I'm 36, so you get an idea of what was on the record player in my house when I was a kid). In fact, I was just listening to them tonight. "Daisy Jane" and "Ventura Highway" are my two favorites.

And yes, I could really do with not hearing "A Horse With No Name" for the umpteenth millionth time each day on the "Lite Rock" station :P
