Fulfilling a lifelong dream!
Sorry you're feeling so low. I really don't feel I've been HAPPY since December 2000, but I must take life's little joys where I can find them.

And now I've got people fighting over me for a job I really want.
Sadly, even that happiness is hampered by the knowledge that my situation is hardly typical. x(

I have an additional degree that makes me somewhat unique...and apparently highly marketable. (thank goodness!) I'm still somewhat shocked at the response I've gotten, but at this point it looks like my biggest problem is deciding which really freaking great job I want to take. It's certainly not what I expected when I started applying.
Any idea what type of job you want?

13. Legal services, family law, criminal law, elder law |
|
Not necessarily in that order. I wouldn't turn my nose up at "soft" intellectual property, but I doubt the big firms will be knocking down my door, with my less than stellar grades.

14. bout the grade thing... |
|
nobody has even asked me for a transcript. Granted, it's not big firms, but I'm rather surpised. My grades weren't anything to write home about. ;)
I've worked for legal services, they don't seem to particularly care about the grades either.
Do you have any feel for the job market in your area? It seems to vary greatly depending on geography.

18. Well, the Pittsburghers I left behind seem to think Dallas is booming |
|
But Dallasite BARBRI classmates told me the market is rough. I won't know until I try! I'm very lucky - no student loans to repay, so no pressure to make $$$$.

I still am. I lean towards Tibetian but what I left was dogma. Why not take the good from each.

19. I could do that easily |
|
I guess you could say I lean towards Mahayana I don't like the idea of being stuck with a label to completely define what I think or believe in. From what I understand being the nature of Buddhism there is no like warring sects or anything like that just different ones but ultimately you're not supposed to have disdain for a sect that is different than your own.

20. In The Last Seven Years |
|
I have gotten sober after years of drinking. In 2000/1999 I found out I was pregnant after having cervical cancer and being told the I would never have a child due to my surgeries and treatment. I beat the depression that I dealt with due to my health problems and being in an abusive and chemical first marriage when I was very young. I never thought that I would see the light at the end of the tunnel. Even brushing my teeth was a heavy burden back then. I found joy in the day to day of just living on my own and living life to the fullest. I still have crappy days, but I also have days that bring tears to my eyes because I am here and happy. My second husband and I now have a healthy and beautiful daughter who is the reason my soul smiles daily. I am happy, my life is an ever changing quilt that I add new colors to. There is joy in even the darkest of moments. I send my best thoughts to you my friend. Hugs to you.
