I hate to whine about something minor during a time like this, but the stings feel worse than when I got them yesterday. It looks like the offending insect made a line of stings in the very sensitive fleshy area next to my armpit. The area is red and hot to the touch.
I'm using a cortisone cream. Anything else that helps?

Or its generic equivalent. It's what doctors give in the ER.

an antihistamine like Benydril? Also, my sister swears that a paste made of baking soda and water will help alleviate the pain.

7. tea tree oil is the very best |
|
it is soothing, an antiseptic, antiviral, antimicrobial, anti inflamatory, anti fungal. Soak the affected areas with either a cotton ball soaked in the oil, or pour the oil directly on the sting. You will feel better soon.
My lover swears by meat tenderizer, it will draw the venom right out. So there you have it, our household remedies for the terrible creatures.

I don't have benadryl, but I do have an ice pack and some baking soda. You guys are so sweet. :)
I'm off to bed. I have an early class tomorrow...just hope I can make it.

9. my dad used to (YUCK) chew up cigarettes into a paste and |
|
poultice the sting with that. I suppose ordinary Skoals would also work. It absolutely DOES WORK!!!
I could never bring myself to actually do it; I would take a cigarette and get the tobacco out of it, spit on it and make a poultice. It takes the pain right out though.
The meat tenderizer treatment is supposed to be excellent.
