I have this one site I am moving around on and this consistantly happens:When I click on a link on the mid to upper left hand area it closes the window completely; site and all. Like I xed out. Why does it do this? Is something wrong with my computer or the site? Help?

It seemst to be a timed thing. Also; after the first time I click on a link to another page it takes 2 clicks on the back button to get me back to page one or either it says the page cannot be found. Weird.

Do you have pop-up/ad blockers on your browser? It's opening up a pop-up ad when I hit those links..

5. I'm checking the links and |
|
they all work. It could very well be security settings you have in effect on your computer or spyware blocker software or something like that

13. There's a TON of JavaScript in those pages |
|
<Rant Mode = ON>
JavaScript is supposed to be well-behaved, but that's a forgone hope. And the magic area you spoke of -- the mid to upper left -- just about always links to an off-site ad.
I'm sure that pop-up blocker interactions are not helping. I keep mine set pretty low, although I have to shut the occasional window that mine misses.
Nearly 100% of my browser crashes, with any browser (not just IE), are due to JavaScript. I've even had browser crashes running Linux sessions (mainly Konqueror in KDE). JavaScript is also used to disable saving web pages. When I save something, I either cut and paste to MSWord or edit the JavaScript out of the page source.
If the bastards disable cut and paste, I get the source. By that time, it's a point of honor.
All of this JS crap is simply to sell more crap or to enforce some mythical intellectual property rights that don't exist. I don't begrudge people from trying to make a living, but it's bugging the hell out of cyberspace.
Thus endeth the </Rant>.
