Does anyone know anything about this company? I seem to recall seeing this name somewhere else, but I didn't think it was a gas station.

1. Ours in Michigan are being replaced with BP
My guess is that the individual store owners are getting better prices from the other companies than they are from Exon/Mobil.

3. Lukoil is a Russian company expanding into the US.

Now that Mobil is now ExxonMobil, places where there are Exxons and Mobils on close proximity are looking to stop competing with one another. Maybe.

5. Here are the details from their website.
Welcome to LukoilAmericas.com. Lukoil’s presence continues its aggressive growth into mainstream U.S. markets. Building on its international recognition and its thirteen state sales platform in over 2,000 facilities which generate over two billion gallons of gasoline sales annually through its service bay and convenience store operations.

Lukoil Americas, through its subsidiary Getty Petroleum Marketing Inc., proudly flies the flags of its two premier brands Lukoil and Getty. With the recent acquisition of ConocoPhillips premium assets in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania (Mobil brand), Lukoil Americas is on it’s way to becoming a major force in the Eastern U.S. market.

Lukoil America’s is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lukoil Oil Company which is the leading vertically integrated oil company in Russia. Founded in 1991, Lukoil Oil Company is one of the world’s top five publicly traded oil companies in terms of proven oil reserves. The Company’s retail network of gas stations in the US market will enable it to more efficiently use export facilities of the terminal in Vysotsk (Leningrad region). The transfer of oil products via this terminal will provide for significant increase of shipments of its own products to the United States and Europe.

7. Damn, now that's a whole bunch of places for me NOT to buy from,
but I'll try to remember anyway.

Sorry, I'm not buying any gasoline from any Russians if I can avoid it.

8. If you have no issue with Hugo Chavez, buy Citgo.
They are Venezuelan-owned.

some other presidents I could name.

I'm not a big fan of socialism, but the people of Venezuela elected him, so they're pretty much saying that they DO want socialism, and it's THEIR country, so it's just fine with me.

And I like his guts in standing up to the fuckheads in Washington.

There's a Citgo station here in town. I'm going to start buying from them.

So, I've been buying Citgo when I can.
