I tried to listen to Chimpy's speech
and lasted about 90 seconds...I just can't do it.

1. You lasted longer then me.
I heard "from the Rose Garden" and I turned it off.

2. Yep...he's reading off a teleprompter. Not a hint of empathy.
Not one single hint of how caring and urgency in his voice. Just reading off this laundry list.

Stumbling through his remarks.

I can't help but think how great Clinton would have been in this horrible tragedy. One wants to imagine the President showing some empathy and concern. I don't hear anything like that right now.

and every time I see his face on there I want to punch out the screen.

6. he didn't say anything worth listening to
trust me, he said nothing new. According to Bush, our first priority is to save as many people as possible. NO SHIT! The coast guard is helping, military is helping with rescue missions and Army engineers are working with FEMA to fix the levees. NO SHIT! Just because HE needed to be updated on the events that occurred while he was on vacation doesn't mean the public does.

:eyes:

He would have scored points with me if he had answered questions but no. He turns around and walks away as reporters begin to yell out questions.

I'm interested in what the mayor of NO has to say to this joke of a press conference.

7. You could tell he was trying harder not to fuck up verbally...
than trying to look halfway sympathetic or humble.

He failed on both counts.
