As a college student w/o a checking account, car, or Red Cross station nearby, about all I can do to try and help the people of Lousiana, Missisippi, and Alabama is donate blood, and I have.

A lot of donors seem to be preoccupied with coping with flooding destruction and homelessness.
Actually this was on TV or in the paper yesterday. Someone was asking for blood donors, because Katrina stopped a lot of folks from making their regular donations.
