I am going to make a list of people who should be helping with money
feel free to add your own:
1.Donald Trump that mf seems to have enough
2. Martha Stewart-saw the spread in Vanity Fair I think she has 6 horses..
3. Paris f****n' Hilton- then she can say "it's hot!" to help
4. George Soros- but he's one of the good guys
5. Rush Limbaugh-he should put his money where his fat a** is
6. Bono and David Geldof (yeah it's 2) but they like to be on tv to help their causes, eh?
7. the Wal-Mart heirs, the Walton bros/sister-from their pot
8. any of the fat cats on the board of Exxon Mobil/Texaco/Shell/Chevron etc who are getting rich beyond belief right now (saw a guy on CNBC saying this)
9. President Clinton to show how stingy and unsexy republicans are (compassion is sexy, my friend)
10. geez just any rich beyond belief person that will never spend their pot (Bill Gates, etc) in their own lifetime.

6. Per Salvation Army website, Wal-Mart
Edited on Wed Aug-31-05 06:44 PM by babylonsister
contributed a whopping 1 mil to the hurricane fund; per Zuni today,

Walton (Wal-mart) heirs worth more than nation of Egypt

http://www.laborresearch.org/story.php?id=356

The five members of the Walton family of Wal-Mart fame could cash in their assets ($102.5 billion) and purchase the entire 2003 output of Egypt's 65 million citizens ($98.5 billion).

Corporate cash. General Motors is currently sitting on enough cash ($55 billion) to fund the federal government's health care budget for 2004 ($52 billion).

Kind of puts their generosity in perspective.

12. And just like with many of the tsunami donations
many of the corporate ones that will come after this will be highly inflated. I doubt they're donating a million in cash. More likely it will be what they estimate as a million worth of merchandise.

7. The Bush and Cheney families have plenty of money
at this point it isn't even really about money...its about finding a way to get to the people.

11. Yup... What we need is for Carnival Cruise Lines to cough up a couple of..
.. ships and all of those "Louisiana Sportsmen for Bush" to
take their fishing boats down to haul people to the cruise ships.

13. I agree I just saw a red cross commercial say they...rop
desperately needed cash. I know that the NYC firemen are coming down because some people in LA donated to get them (NYC'ers) a new fire truck so they are returning the favor.
IT seems that the less you have the more you are able to give from your heart, I swear this is true.

8. as an obscenely rich individual, I say nuts to that
I was thinking of donating but decided to spend the $200 on a manicure on Rodeo Drive instead.

kidding. I gave and my nails look like shit (in fact one of them has been totally black since I slammed it in a garage door a month ago - was wearing tape over it to spare people for awhile, then got lazy) hmmm... maybe it is time for their weekly chewing.
