Something made me happy today (Yay!)

This girl I've been trying to convert from an acquaintance to a girlfriend for a couple of years had coffee with me today before she left to study abroad next semester.

She's incredibly shy and afraid of "relationships". She wouldn't even let me buy her egg rolls one time. Seriously, she put $3 on the table and said "you're taking that or I'm just leaving it here" even though I was going to pay for both of us with a $20.

Anyhoo, today I jokingly called how we spent our time together as a "non -dating, non-relationship" and she laughed because she knew that's not exactly true. Then she gave me a real honest-to-goodness hug, not that "please-don't-touch-me" kind of thing that usually happens when you're obliged to hug your parents at your Bar-Mitzvah.

So with all the shit going down these days, that made me feel pretty good for a little while. Actually, I still feel good!

Unfortunately, that's the situation. I think it's gone as far as it's going to go, but at least it seems to have finally gone somewhere.
