3. Remember, some of us
have larger vehicles in order to work, or to move horses or livestock. Not everyone can drive a Honda.

Sorry, just pre-empting any truck/SUV scoldings, nothing personal towards you. :hi:

And is Cheney still getting "deferred compensation" from Halliburton, too? These kids are cashing in, all at our expense.

6. To be honest I was just curious, I drive an F-250 for work and we
need that power to get our job done. If it serves a purpose O.K.., but these asses in Suv's and Hummers with one rider and no work duty is BS! Where abouts you live?

13. Between Jackson and Ann Arbor, Michigan.
I have an old '94 Explorer with 181000 miles on it. It is the only vehicle my wife and I can afford at the moment (and we share it), and we DO use it to move our horse around with.

But some folks just get so riled up about any and all vehicles larger than a 4-banger.

I saw someone driving a big H1 down I-94 today, all alone.

21. Those are what I use for my fleet trucks
One of them is a 4x4 the rest are regular.

I feel your pain, I really do. I've already realize the price of gas is going to cripple my wee little business to the point of extinction.

8. mine was around $23,000 but there are tax deductions...
...And my employer gives me $ every month under the car pool/rideshare program. And I got a discounted loan rate because it was a hybrid. so even if it's a little much to spend it get a little back here and there.

16. You can get a Prius for less than 20K
but you don't get any of the toys. What I mean by that: navigation system, smart locks, stereo, vehicle stability control My Jenny cost about that (maybe a bit more), excluding taxes and our service plan. Our service plan was very expensive, but I don't trust just any shop with a hybrid, and our service plan is for 7 years.

Here's a pic of my Jenny.

She gets about 43mpg at the moment, but our commute isn't very long either. Because I am not able to drive (I have a dislocated right knee cap), we are not spending as much on gas in general. We also filled up before Katrina went ashore.

Gas is expensive today. But by 1981 standards in terms of dollars, we are still paying a bit less, but NOT by much.

I worry more about my natural gas bills this winter than I do about my gasoline bill. There are going to be some bad spikes.

22. I'm pissed too!!!!!!!!
I was stuck at work all day and couldn't get to the pumps!!! I got off and went straight to the station where 18 months ago I filled my empty tank for 12 bucks. Tonight I got a half tank for $22.50. I sent $ush an email thanking him very much for helping us all to poverty with that energy bill of his. Everyone at work was calling him a SOB all day. I love it some of them are deserving lol:banghead:

23. Many will soon be deciding between gas to get to work and milk
for their kids

The people who harvest wheat said they are not coming next year as the fuel is too high and that was LAST Wednesday they decided that - before it REALLY got bad

People, it takes fuel to grow your food and get it to your markets. Your gas tank is gonna be the least of your worries shortly.
