Any DUers curl?
I signed up this year, but I was bottom of the list on account of being a newby. They had no openings on any of the teams. Just as well I guess getting up at 7 am on Sunday would suck.

1. I tried it once in Kenora for about an hour
About 10 years ago, after meeting someone who was on a team and he invited me to a practice session.

I always had too much speed as a pusher, but they said I had good kneebend and technique for a complete newcomer. As a sweeper I was frustrated the rock would never turn quite enough.

Overall it was a blast and I love watching curling during the Olympics now.

Kenora is near Thunder Bay and used to be called Rat Portage, as I recall from the local museum. Apparently it was a very rough town in the late 1800s, plenty of bootlegging, burglary and prostitution.
