4. thanks!
I always wonder about those people who have a strong impact and then disappear.

Like Cheryl Barnes, who played Hud's Fiancee in the movie Hair and stopped the show with "Easy to be Hard". it was her only film appearance ever.

Harper Lee wrote one book and stopped. "To Kill a Mockingbird" Of course, at least Harper made a fortune (I presume).

I don't live too far from her. Except in the summer when she's in Manhattan.

There are rumors that Truman Capote actually wrote the book. I don't believe it.

6. yes, that was rumored for years...
I don't believe it simply because there were few bigger egomaniacs than Truman Capote and he would NEVER have allowed somebody else to get all the credit for such a beautiful piece of work.

If you ever see Harper, tell her Dookus says Thanks :)

8. actually...
I think Capote was an awesome writer, and "To Kill a Mockingbird" was not beyond his talents.

I think Capote's very straightforward - one of the reasons I love him. He's actually my favorite author.

9. That's right
They say everybody has one good book in them. Some authors just write that one book over and over. Her genius may have been in stopping at just the one.
