I must break this nasty habit!

But I'm afraid I might miss the beginning of the end for BushCo.

1. Take six hours off. Twelve if you can stand it.
I actually have a theory about why people who've started watching can't stop--but I'm gonna leave the explantions to the professionals. Just take a break and do something else for a bit. You'll feel better.

6. Well, the shrinks of DU should feel free to jump in here anytime...

but I think the compulsion to watch has a lot to do with helplessness--staying informed can be a form of staying in control and feeling as if you are at least sympathizing with the victims, which can go a long way to assuaging any guilt you may feel if you don't think your donations were enough (not slagging people who can't volunteer, I can't either). And, of course, there's the reason the OP gives, wanting to catch the beginning of the end for Bush. Which is valid, but so is maintaining as much mental health as you can during this time.

7. That's a good point --
knowledge is a form of power.

4. Why did I stay up all night waiting for Pope John Paul to die?
When I knew I had an all-day bar review class to attend the next day? He ended up dying while I was at the class, so I missed the moment. Do something else and pray that BushCo will go down at the earliest possible time whether or not you're watching.
