Crank Yankers: Possibly the Most Ignorant Person on the Planet
was "cranked" in last nights episode. Anyone see it? I'm talking about the lady in the Pinata store.

I sat there listening to that call and what should have been hilarious actually scared me half to death. The realization that these people exist is truly frightening. She actually thought Islam was a country.

4. I don't have cable...
...and have seen "Crank Yankers" only once at a bar. Thought it was hysterical. What was the gist of this particular call and what was the story with this lady?

5. It was funny but also appalling
This woman was so ignorant...

The cranker called a pinata store (really, someone actually has a store that just makes pinata's, I guess that in itself should be a giveaway that they're stupid) and has an arabic (sort of) accent.

He was trying to get the lady to first make a banner that said something like "Islam is #1"

The woman responded with something like "you live in America, not Islam"

The caller then wanted her to make a pinata of Bush w/ red candy in it. And there was lots of back and forth about hating America and at one point the woman said something like "That's why they say God Bless America, because God blesses THIS country not yours" and the caller said something like "No that's just what YOU say" and the woman said "No, when they founded this country they stuck a cross in the ground and said God Bless America!"

There's more, but I think you get the idea. The woman was surreally ignorant and the whole thing was funny but incredibly frightening because there are people who actually think like this.

9. Thanks for the recap
"...they stuck a cross in the ground and said God Bless America."?!?!?

Wow, it's THAT easy to get your country blessed, is it? I'll be sticking a cross in the ground in Canada and proclaiming 'God Bless Canada' any day now.

15. it's not the sticking the Cross in the ground that does it,
it's finding the bubblin' crude where you pierced the soil.

Oil, that is. Texas tea.

6. She kept using "Islam" as if it were a country.
Totally clueless. I really wondered if she wasn't an actress. I mean, good Goddess, if that is the mindset we are up against I am depressed.

She did say "pinata" everytime he asked, and she did agree to make a Bush pinata for him, though.

7. I'm not sure she agreed to make a Bush pinata
She told him to bring a picture in and she'd make it. I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted him to come down to the store so she could have Ashcroft waiting for him...

Did you catch that part about sticking a cross in the ground and saying god bless America? Now that's crazy!

12. Yes, I forgot she said "you need to learn history"
before she made that stunningly idiotic statement.

13. Haven't seen "Street Smarts," have you?
Even "Jeopardy" dares not ask history questions anymore, particularly American history, as the contestants simply don't know the answers.
