You think you have wierd inlaws?
I'm an UNION/Democrat/athiest guy whose father in law is a retired missionary/preacher/repuglican. My mother in law is a dead ringer for Dana Carvey's "church lady" character. How have I been married for 19 years?... Beats me!

2. My ex's people were that way
Seventh Day Adventists, really 'Church Lady" in their attitude toward everything. Their whole approach to life is "Hey, I'm a Christian, trust me." Such bullshit.

4. My FIL was a Nazarene minister and we could not say the word "pregnant"
around him. We also could not mention that I or anyone else was visibly pregnant. I guess it was the horror over how I got that way. We also could not go to movies and let him know about it, though it was okay to rent them and watch them at home. Knowing how he felt about drinking there was obviously none at my wedding and we had lemon punch at the rehearsal dinner. We had plastic martini looking glasses but he refused to raise his punch to toast because "it was too much like drinking."
