Help put a RW bush loving asshole in jail

Hi all,

I need advice on a personal situation involving abuse of my elderly mother by my 30 something brother. He tried to get her to sign loan paperwork for 80k. She has filed charges but her lawyer is saying the states attorney probably won't prosecute as a felony blahblahblah. The lawyer keeps suggesting that we should work out a deal to have the charges reduced to misdeanor. We haven't even gotten to the final protective order hearing! My mother has suffered many, many years of physical and mental abuse at the hands of my brother (as have I) and I feel that the lawyer is not representing her best interest. Anyone out there have any advice?

There's NO REASON why it should not be a felony. This is inexcusable and a crime.
