I'm listening to the song "Sweet Neocon"
Bought the Rolling Stones latest album "A Bigger Bang" today.

Sweet Neocon is a pretty good song on an otherwise disappointing album.

The lyrics to Sweet Neocon

You call yourself a Christian
I think that you're a hypocrite
You say that you're a patriot
I think that you're a crock of shit
And listen. I love gasoline
I drink it everyday
But it's getting very pricey
And who's going to pay?

How come you're so wrong?
My sweet Neocon

It's liberty for all
Democracy's our style
Unless you're against us
Then it's prison without a trial
But one thing that is certain
Life is good at Halliburton
If you're really so astute
Then invest in Brown and Root

How come you're so wrong
My sweet Neocon
If you turn out right
I'll eat my hat tonight

It's getting very scary
Yes I'm frightened out my wits
There's bombers in my bedroom
And it's giving me the shits
We must have loads more bases
To protect us from our foes
Who needs those foolish friendships
We're going it alone

How come you're so wrong
My sweet neo-con
Where's the money gone?
In the Pentagon

Yeh yeh yeh

1. sorry, Stones are just trying to make a last attempt to make money
they became irrelevant decades ago. They knew that anti-bush albums sell so they purposively put that song on there in hopes to sell more albums

Not buying it.

2. I'd say save your money
As to relevance I'm not one who considers musicians anything more than they are. They're not prophets or anything else.

Then again being an old fart myself I might be inclined to go see them in concert.

3. Really? I think this is their best album in a long time.
In fact I think this is their best full length since "Tattoo You". The song styles span their career. I particularly like "Back of My Hand", "Rough Justice", "Rain Fall Down", "Oh No" and "Sweet Neo-Con". I'm hoping they play it live when I see them next month but it seems unlikely.

4. I've only heard a couple of songs, and they sounded good.
Made me think they're getting back to their old selves, that this probably is the best album they've made in years. I'm glad to hear my opinion validated by someone who's heard the whole album. I look forward to hearing it.

5. I've heard good things about the new album
I have yet to get it. The Stones still rock no matter what anyone says. I saw them live a few years back and they kicked ass. They have had a few stinkers in the last two decades, but they have really come out with some great stuff as of late.

6. Love the new CD
Love the new music. They can say whatever they want - because they are the Stones. Different than the Dixie Chicks making a call.

It's about time they step up.

Look What The Cat Dragged In Rolling Stones lyrics
Artist: Rolling Stones
Album: A Bigger Bang
Year: 2005
Title: Look What The Cat Dragged In

I know that you like to go out drinking
And you love to have a good time
You came in when I was drinking coffee
Having breakfast on a bad night

I won't interrogate you and I never will berate you
But your light's on
From where you've been
Lost weekend

What's that look on your face
It must have been the walk of shame
Your eyes are all red, get ready for bed
Your hair's all over the place

And look what the cat dragged in
Don't you call me a friend
Get out of my house with your dirty old mouth
Take yourself out again

Look what the cat dragged in
Yeah, you take it right out again
Yeah, look what the cat dragged in
Yeah, take it right out again

Looking at the sunday papers up what all the ladies did was so quiet
Checking what was going on in Syria and Lebanon
A bad pride, bad bribe

I'm going to criticize you and I hate to ostracize you
What a bad night
Where you've been
Lost weekend

You look like a tumble of spades
It must get a horrible taste
You look like a fucker, Sergeant Pepper
Are you going to throw up all over my face

Look what the cat dragged in
Take it right out again
Get out of my house with your dirty old mouth
Take it right out again

Look what the cat dragged in
Yeah, never do that my friend
Yeah, look what the cat dragged in
Look what the cat, look what the cat, look what the cat dragged in
