I'm a paranoid - they are paranoids |
|
wouldn't you like to be a paranoid too?
I find myself editing my words and rethinking what I say or send, though there is absolutely nothing other than birthday wishes and dumb messages with little thought involved. Am I becoming even more paranoid in my everyday life?
Yes. And it pisses me off because I have nothing to be paranoid about. Like I don't have enough real crap to worry about.
Are you paranoid about anything?

1. Your level of paranoia sounds like it's harmless |
|
Now when you start worrying that you might be a mind control slave for the CIA who can't remember your meetings with them because the memories are locked in an alternate personality that you have no control over.......THAT'S paranoia. That was my latest trip in my ongoing battle with schizoaffective disorder. I've got some good meds and I'm in therapy, so I'm doing okay........now.

3. I get paranoid sometimes |
|
It is because I have a side of me that is rather insecure about myself and believes that no one really likes me and if they do, for some strange reason, I am going to mess that up soon by any wrong little things I do. For my closest friends, they have to put up with stuff like "Are you angry at me or something? Is that why you didn't come over? I am really sorry about..."(some ridiculous small thing that I think that they could have possibly been offended by) or my email to my best friend who no longer works with me "I was going to wait for you to email me but I found out that you already emailed my husband and (blank) and I was feeling left out. Is it because you didn't like the card I got you? Is it because I said very little to you on your last day? Or is it because I am so annoying when I am paranoid like this?". I am just doing what I was taught during the anxiety support group: "If you have anxiety over something someone did and fear it is because of you, you should confront them as soon as possible in order to deal with the situation." I think that I go overboard sometimes. I only do it with people who matter a lot to me and know that I am weird like this.

He's constantly thinking that he's done something wrong and that he's offended somebody in some way. He's constantly worries about what other people think of him. When he gets that way with me I tell him there's nothing wrong and he keeps asking me if I'm sure. So I've got a little joke that I pull on him every time he does that. I just say that the only thing that's wrong is you asking me so many times if there's something wrong. That usually does the trick.
