It's just because he bears some resemblance to men I have known (including my own husband) who lost his hair in his 20's and wore a hairpiece for a couple of years.

I really don't care one way or another, but that hairline is just too perfect. Doesn't it look like Sam Donaldson? By the way, WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO SAM DONALDSON???

4. Hello, KitchenWitch -- Sam must be in semi-retirement somewhere.
Damn, I just heard that Chris Schenkel the sportscaster died -- my ex-husband worked with him in the 1960s. Schenkel was 82 years old.

Shallow? I LOVE shallow -- and sometimes even GOSSIP! Here's another UNREVEALED thing: My husband doesn't want me to buy tabloid magazines at the check-out counter of the supermarket. We both feel it puts money into the hands of out-and-out monster "fake" news organizations.

BUT -- when I go to have my hair cut (about every six weeks), the hairdresser ALWAYS gives me the Star or the National Enquirer and I devour it!

That's shallow!

6. I am partial to the Weekly World News
Not so much into the gossip rags...give me tinfoil hat stuff and I am happy.

11. I'll have to ask hairstylist Tina to subscribe to the Weekly World News --
I know I've read it, but not recently. She really shouldn't spend her money supporting such written trash, but if she does, I can't stop her.

On the other hand, I am the 66-year-old daughter of a lawyer who became a judge. I hold a B.A. degree in TV-Radio-Film (cum laude) and was pleasantly surprised that I followed AND PRETTY MUCH understood much of the confirmation hearings the last few mornings.

I'm proud of myself, intellectually. I'd like to have a date with Joe Biden

http://biden.senate.gov/

and maybe even Chuck Schumer.

http://schumer.senate.gov/

It would be fun!

7. Gee, I never thought about that. Isn't that PHRENOLOGY or some
other pseudo-science? (Phrenology was studying the bumps on the head, I think.)

My son lives in Utah and I don't discuss politics with him. He's probably voting Republican, but I'm not sure. And he has what I call "thin" lips. He's still nice looking, I think.

3. Doubt it. He has a major bald spot right in the back on top.

BTW, last time I heard from Donaldson he was on Letterman, giddy about blogging and his website and connecting with the new generation. It was a bit too zealous for me, kind of spooky.

5. Oh, yeah. Bald spot would be covered. Male pattern baldness is
interesting, isn't it?

Let's see if I can find Sam Donaldson using the wonders of the Internet...

Back at you...

13. I encouraged my husband to embrace his baldness. He was very
sad in his mid-20s, lost more of it in his 30s (I met him when he was 37). He wore a toupee for a couple of years, but in his 40s, he got contact dermatitis from the double-faced tape. "Throw the G-d-damned thing away," I said, and "shave it all off!" he did -- on a pleasure trip to San Francisco. But he let it grow back again, thinking it was "too radical" for his job in sales.

Now, this was in the early 1980s, when I don't recall many men (maybe some black basketball players) who shaved their head. He finally got it right and since then, he's a "skinhead without the politics that goes with it." I love it! My grandkids love it!

Best way to go, my friend.

Can anyone help me out here? Photobucket doesn't seem to want to recognize it.

Either that or one bad, very greasy haircut.

A relatively recent post discusses Peter Jennings death, too.

He must have had melanoma diagnosed in 1995. That's news to me.
