War protest songs and artists
who's writing war protest songs? It seems that I heard of a few but not actually heard the songs....could be because I'm in Colorado and ClearChannel owns just about every station here.

It's a great big o' pile of them.
I'm in CO also, and clear channel is the scourage of the radio band.

5. WHAT??
What happened? Did CC buy them out?? I loved their format.
I have't listened to it in awhile, been on a NPR kick, especially the BBC at night.
What happened?

7. Still in Business
But ClearChannel owns them now, they are still doing good things but their format is much more tame than in the late eighties and nineties. I used to listen to them all the time but I havent heard one protest song and I can't help but think Clearchannel dictates or limits format.

2. Yes. You're exactly right.
Corporate-owned radio.

I miss getting a wider range of music -- including protest music.

3. Coloradans unite, eh?
Me, too.

Try Chumbawamba - Jacob's Ladder and Universal Soldier; VNV Nation for in general libbish melodic electronica.

It's random.

Personally, I think we need singing and whistling songs, like moved most of the world, pre-radio. Those were really powerful.
