Anyone heard what kind of deal 9/11 commission made with WH
re: release of daily briefings/other papers?
I heard that some type of deal was struck and that the commission also is requesting some of Clinton's documents, but that those will not be made public...
Anyone have any news?

1. Sometimes I wonder if all of the craziness that is being foisted
on the American people is to distract from the 9/11 investigation>

If it is, mission accomplished.

2. it's complicated
four people can see some stuff and some other stuff only two people can see. I didn't hear about Clinton papers. That figures.

3. They asked for Clinton documents too?
Hmmm...are these the documents that Bush refused to release even though Clinton said it was okay with him? Maybe the Clinton documents are proof that Bush had all the evidence he needed to make bin Laden a priority before 9/11?

4. Not sure, just saw a brief blurb on this last night
It was on the scrolling news thingy at the bottom of the screen on one of the news channels. Have not had the idiot box on yet this morning and have heard nothing more yet...

5. More info in New York Times
Apparently it is a concern:

"Administration officials acknowledge that they fear that information in the reports might be construed to suggest that the White House had clues before Sept. 11, 2001, that Al Qaeda was planning a catastrophic attack. The White House acknowledged last year, in response to news reports, that an intelligence briefing in August 2001 suggested that Al Qaeda might be planning hijackings."

That's pretty big news. But it will probably be eclipsed by all the other big news.
