Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I left for work right after I responded to this thread. You haven't been around for a while. Or at least not on at the same time as me. I'm about to break the 10,000 post barrier. I think I'm going to take a little break from DU after that. This place is starting to affect my sleep patter  I've made some serious changes lately. I don't know if you've seen my posts about that. I quit smoking, drinking, sniffing gl... wait a minute. Anyway I've given up all of my bad habits and joined a gym. I've lost 25 pounds so far.

You people are weird.
:hi:
And I'm really more of an "I" than an "E", but because of the way the questions are worded in the test, I come up with E - for instance, I *like* having people around, but I *don't* necessarily like interacting with them. I study well at coffee shops, where there are lots of people that I don't have to talk to, better than studying at home.
So that skews a few questions.

84. Hah! Figures! A "T" remembers! |
|
F means you make decisions mainly based on feeling and emotion. Lots of ministers and social workers and camp counselors are Fs (though not all, of course). Fs can have a hard time firing people because they might worry how the person will feed his/her family, or survive, or whatever. The F may very well recognize that the person needs to be fired, but will fret and feel horrible about it, and especially have a hard time in the actual firing moment. McCoy was definitely an F (except when actually studying his medicine, in which he was very much a T).
T are people who make decisions mainly based on logic and reason. Scientists and some businesspeople tend toward T. A T doesn't have a hard time firing people, because, hey, they aren't doing their work. While the T might still feel bad about it, and worry how the guy/woman is gonna survive after losing their job, the feeling bad part doesn't enter into the fact that the person is crappy at the work and needs to go. Spock is most definitely a T.

Maybe I need to take the test again, but--I'm pretty sure I gave the best, most truthful answers. That makes NO. SENSE. I suck at math. SUCK at it. It's actually been a fairly significant obstacle to my ability to achieve my entire life, the world of academic testing being arranged to prevent those without math skills from advancing beyond a certain point. WHAT THE HELL. Seriously, I'm going to get this evaluated further when I again have the means because it does not jive with what I've always been told my thinking, studying and working style indicated.

51. No, language and math are very similar (along with music) |
|
It's all patterns and rules and systematic systems.
However - that's only at the root level of language (or music). Using the language (or music) creatively or uniquely, that's a right brain thing.
Left brain will let you learn foreign languages, learn grammar, syntax, and even build a huge vocabulary in your native or a foreign tongue, and let you make technically perfect sentences in whatever language you want. But it's the right brain that will arrange and inform those perfect sentences into Moby Dick or Finnegan's Wake or a hymn text or Churchill speech.
(same with music)
Left brain - tools Right brain - inspiration, and how to use those tools the "wrong way"

You responded as a right brained person to 9 questions, and you responded as a left brained person to 9questions. According to the Hemispheric Dominance test, you use your left brain the most. The summary briefly describes your dominance type. Remember, this only represents half of the picture. After you read the description, click on the link at the bottom of the page to find out how to use this information to improve your study strategies. Do not forget to print your results, if your instructor has requested you to do so.
Some of the traits associated with the left side of the brain are listed in the table. Not all of the traits will apply to you. Remember, we use both side of our brain, but your left sides gets the most exercise.
Type of Cognitive Processing Brief Description Linear Processing information from part to whole; in a straight forward logical progression. Sequential Processing information in order from first to last. Symbolic Processes symbols an pictures; likes to use letters, words and mathematical symbols. Logical Processes information piece by piece using logic to solve a problem. Verbal Processes thoughts and ideas with words. there were a couple that were iffy, one way or the other, so on the outside, I'd be around 14 to 4...but still very much left-brained.
Hardly a surprise, I might add.
I'd wager that my fiancee, a graphic artist, is much more likely to score right brained.
