My grandma's obituary.....
With all the support I've gotten here at DU I thought I'd post her obituary for ya'all. It's been a bit over 24 hours since her death and every waking second seems to be filled with tears.

I really miss her. :(

-----------

God I'm gonna miss her fire. She and I would sit and bash Bush ALL the time, now I'm not gonna have anyone to do that with. :(
I so wish she could have seen him get kicked out of office, she couldn't stand that ass. She never will.

1. Sean, she sounds like she was a great woman...
she left behind a large family with whom I am sure you are finding some comfort.

And we at DU are here to comfort you too. I am sending you a nice hug and hope that you feel better soon.

2. My condolences
on the loss of such a special person. I can see "the fire" in her picture and I can see someone with a quick wit.
Let's remember to toast her on election night when Bush is swept out!
Peace to you.

5. not to worry
You can be sure she's up there cussin' him with that lady (Sally) from one of the Great Lakes states. The one who named him Whistleass.

Those two will make quite a pair, don't you think?

6. I'm sorry for your loss, Sean. Grandmothers are special, some

really special. I was very close to one of my grandmothers and she died shortly after I was married. It's sad when you lose a grandparent that was also a good friend. I remember when your grandfather died, too, and it doesn't seem that long ago.

I hope the Funeral Mass on Saturday will bring you some peace. You'll be a lot of DUers' thoughts and prayers.

8. You have my positive thoughts
My Grandma died under the strangest manner I have ever seen or heard.

The timing and perpetual reminders I get are amazing.

I lightly mentioned it here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=111&topic_id=10929#11155

11. That was a wonderful obituary, Sean..
It gave a real feel for who she was.. You were lucky to have had her a long time.. By the time I was 12, I had no grandparents left..

She lived long enough to see what a great guy your grew up to become, and she was there long enough to see you through your medical crisis last year..

It will be horrible, but you will get through it..And you can always rant & rave here to us.. There's always someone here ..

I hope you're dealing with it well. Your original post on this brought tears to my eyes. i haven't forgotten my grandparents, or my parents, or anyone else that was "always going to be there" when I was a little kid. It's so sad evertime we lose one.

15. I know what you mean by not having anyone
to talk politics with and I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my mother two years ago, also a * hater. She cussed at the republicans when they were on TV. She was a political junkie, knew all the Senators by name and affiliation and a lot of the Congresspeople. Many times I think about running into her room to tell her something I just read on DU. I used to give her printouts from articles posted here. She saved them all and told others about them. She was 94. I know that one thing that helped her to hang on as long as she did was her vote. She never voted for a republican in her life. She was the only person I knew who was knowledgeable enough about politics for me to talk with.

22. Hey Sean...
one thing that I do when I lose someone close to me, is I sit down and write down the things that I loved about them. I write down their endearing habits, some of my most poigniant memories about that person, stories of that persons escapades, even the things they did that used to piss me off. This does a few things: it helps me deal with my feelings for that person, and to work through my grief, and, as memories fade with age, it helps me remember details that I might otherwise forget. Hope this helps. Best wishes in this difficult time.

My aunt died early on in the Bush years and this was my godmother as well. Sad really just as my baby brother began his life, Ann had to die :(. May your grandma RIP.
