Animal pic thread. I need an animal break. (sigh)
Please post a favorite picture of an animal. It can be your pet or a picture of a wild animal, an animal photo you particularly like...whatever. :)

I'll kick it off with some beautiful big cats:

Two Male White Lions

A Beautiful Jaguar

A Cheetah Eating a Safari Camera :D

3. Variable bush vipers
I hope no one is too squeamish to look at this pic, but I think it's incredible. These little venomous snakes are beautiful, especially when shown next to other color variations.

10. I actually captured that from an episode of "Big Cat Diary"
back when I had TV.

That particular cheetah was completely habituated to vehicles. What ya gonna do? :D Would you try to take the camera back?

12. In my puse, no.
My guinea pig died and she's buried in my parent's backyard under a cherry tree, in a cedar box my Dad lovingly made upon her passing. I was at college when she died and was very sad. I've been a renter since college, and having a pet would make finding ideal housing more difficult, so I've been pet-less for about seven years.

21. This is a gerbil I had as a pet when I was a kid.
Edited on Sat Sep-17-05 05:05 PM by Jamastiene
His name was Sir Emmet Emerson. And for the record this also serves as a giant FU to my english teacher who had his chance to see this and blew it.

Because I have other animal lovers present, I can share this. Emmet was a great gerbil. He was smart. He even posed for this picture. I miss him.

into those eyes and not consider them members of the family is just not right. You have 2 beautiful babies now. Congrats.
