What's your favorite sport to watch on Television? |
|
I like Basketball the most..
However, I find myself tuning out sports in recent years, professional sports anyway, the high salaries, and general bad attitude of those who feel they deserve multi-million dollar contracts have left a bad taste in my mouth.

Keep up with local college basketball and football on a superficial level. That's about it.

Live continuous extensive coverage, with direct feeds that keep the talent on its toes trying to spin it to conform to regime memos.

any other sport I prefer to go in person. Golf is better on TV because you can see how things are shaking out with the leaders so much better at home.
If you are not mad about golf like me, then you won't get it at all. But if you are it's addictive.

14. football is great on tv...really sucky live. |
|
The best sports to see live are baseball and hockey.
Basketball and football are sports best enjoyed at home on the sofa.

Could watch a baseball game just about anytime. Followed by Football. I've become bored with basketball...and hockey is too hard to follow on T.V. It is great in person though !!!

27. Will second baseball. However, TV really breaks up its linear aspects... |
|
On TV, you see the pitcher throw. Cut to batter swinging. Cut to outfielder going back, ball goes over fence. Cut to batter circling bases, etc.
At the park, all at once, you see the pitch, you see the swing, you see the trail of the ball in flight -- the whole thing happens with great fluidity that's just lost on TV.
Doesn't stop me from watching, though. :toast:

Despite all the politicking and problems with artificial performance enhancers I still really enjoy the Olympics. So I make sure to watch when they roll around.
I enjoy all the local color stories about the host cities too.

24. Ditto, any Olympiad trumps all |
|
I've been fortunate enough to attend many of the recent Olympics, both summer and winter beginning with LA '84. It's incredible how superior the TV coverage is in other countries, especially to the ratings paranoia of NBC. Locally, both Sydney and Barcelona had all day coverage virtually without interruption. And the CBC coverage is fantastic compared to American treatment. I have saved at least several VCR tapes full of coverage from every Olympiad since '84.
Otherwise, give me college football and golf. College basketball was near the top until they instituted the garbage 3 point shot, which guaranteed an inferior style of play with up to 3 players per team doing nothing on offense other than make sure their toes are behind an arbitrary line.

Those women are something to watch. Beautiful And when they hi-five... I get weak. I also like poker worlds series....
But the real answer is basketball!
This game was made for TV. more specifically COLLEGE HOOPS. Nothing like NCAA tourney.... Yeah I like the Pros but this year they are kind of overhyping this shit right out the gate. hate to say it but the game aint the game since Jordan left and I dont even like Jordan but he made everyone better. If you were playing him... you gave a little more.
