LA DUers! That cold white stuff is not snow, but it's close enough.

3. Hail.
Lots and lots of hail. Something like two inches fell in a matter of minutes, from what I understand.

7. That was....
....the weirdest fucking storm I have EVER seen!!

People were having to dig their cars out of piles of hail--looked like about a foot of it on the ground in Compton. And then there were the bizarre flash floods. And the thunder and lightning.

They said on the news this morning that a couple of places in south LA got NINE INCHES of rain in two and a half hours.

Channel 7, to their credit, also had a lovely picture of that breathtaking rainbow that preceded the weirdness yesterday.

8. A rainbow preceded the weirdness?
Talk about weird! I just found out about this because I happened to decide to check my LA Times link. This is what I saw:

Residents on Bellhaven Street in South Los Angeles dig out from under a blanket of snow-like hail. The storm also flooded streets and disrupted air travel.

9. They showed Watts on the news
people were have a hail fight (think snowball fight, but much smaller). The weird thing is, here I am in Santa Monica and it's dry as a bone. Very weird.
