Movie recommendation for sci-fi fans
It's a sleeper called, "Retroactive". From around 1997.

It stars James Belushi as a southern redneck, and other no name actors but they do a good job. The story briefly is about a policewoman whose car breaks down in the desert, and she gets a lift from a redneck Texas guy traveling with his girlfriend. It has a very interesting story that involves time travel, along with some great action scenes.

4. Thirteenth Floor
I liked "Thirteenth Floor," espite the fact that it did poorly at the box office. The idea of us being in a simulation has a nightmarish quality that comes at least partway to that of the Matrix series, and is an apt metaphor for the SFX Rove-politik.

5. Deadlock
A parody on the word "Wedlock".

Mimi Rogers and Rutger Hauer are convicts who are yoked together in a futuristic prison. They escape and track down the corrupt prison officials who framed them. There's some good social commentary in it on prison-for-profit. All in all, not a bad flick.
