Mid-life crisis? Judge me.
OK. I'm old enough to have twin 20-year olds. And I don't want to be one of those women who can't grow old gracefully. I don't wear Britney low-riders. No piercings or tattoos (not that there's anything wrong with that)..but I'm developing what could be an embarrassing obsession: I like Pink, Yeah, that Pink. The 24-year old singer. I'm addicted to her music. She seems the logical progression from my admiration of the fierce- girl music of my past....Deborah Harry, Chrysse Hynde, Annie Lennox, Natalie Merchant, The Divinyls. I keep playing my "Try This" CD over and over. People are bound to find out. Do you get "too old" for certain kinds of music?

12. Go for it
I'm 51, and if I don't listen to some Ozzy at least once during the day, I'm having a bad one. I usually follow that up with some Metallica. I like both kinds of music...heavy AND metal lol.

Pink is absolutely the baddest of the girls out there now...she could kick Britney and Christine's ass before breakfast, and still have enough energy to fu** you dead before lunch.

3. If you honestly enjoy it, then no, you're not too old for it.
Nevermind other people's opinions about what you should and shouldn't like. If Pink does it for you and Michael Bolton doesn't, then that's what you should listen to.

4. No...

It souns like its in step with everything you've always liked.

Now, if you were always into classical music and than you suddenly started listening to Eminem and talking like a "thug" I would say you had jumped the shark.

Like the first reply....you've earned it.

5. I don't think so...
but the 75% of me that is pure cynic says that you are buying into a major-label/mass-media whore.

People are never too old to be cool. Some of the coolest people I've met were seniors, but then again I am a history buff (read: dork).

10. My Mom started off..
with going to see groups like Jefferson Airplane and The Doors back in the 60s when she was in her 30s.

In the 80s -- when she was in her 50s -- I was taking her to Billy Idol and Prince concerts.

Now in her 70s, she has the latest Santana & Matchbox 70 CDs and was seriously bummed when Joey Ramone died.

She's the "youngest" 70 year old most folks know.

If Pink does it for you, knock yourself out. :)

with airbrushed pits who know how to be properly deferential to men.

My husband thinks Pink is one of the sexiest creatures walking the planet - she and Mya MADE that Lady Marmalade video.

17. Probably the most respected UK radio DJ is John Peel.
He's been on Radio One - the youth station - since 1967. He's 64, and plays some cutting edge stuff. He's been quoted as saying he doesn't understand why so many people just stop liking new stuff - he's always stayed fresh. Pulp played his daughter's 18th birthday party.

So I don't think you're ever too old to start liking something current.

18. I'm 44
and I wear low-riders (hey, I'm short-waisted, they're the only pants that fit right), I have piercings, I have six tattoos with more on the way, and I like Pink too. I like Garbage better, but Pink has some good stuff. Anybody who doesn't like it can kiss my not-yet-tattooed butt.

Screw growing old gracefully. Have fun. Just don't try to be buds and hang out with your kids and their friends; that's when people embarrass themselves. Have your own style and enjoy your own life.
