Calling (out) Will Pitt - official Cowboys v. Patriots smack thread
Edited on Fri Nov-14-03 11:52 AM by VelmaD
That's right. It's Cowboys vs. Patriots baybee. And I haven't heard a peep of trash-talk outta you all week. Are ya yellow-bellied?

My Cowboys are gonna open up an indutrial-size can of whoop-ass on y'all. *insert redneck rebel-yell here*

You ready to make a publicly embarassing wager on the game yet?

3. *rolls eyes*
I am supremely disappointed at both the quality and quantity of football trash-talk around here lately.

So, what do you want if you win? ;-)

6. I have no doubt...
that the Cowboy defense will keep it close. It could get really exciting at the end.

4. I could see that happening...
I could also see it the other way - Cowboys by 3. The Cowboy defense is good enough to keep it close. Damn I've been impressed this year.

Now if the dang offense could just get their act together on a consistent basis life would be good for us Cowboy fans.

The Parcell's thing hadn't even dawned on me yet. Woohoo!

After what the 'Boys did to the Jets and Giants I'm kinda wishing they could play all their "home" games at the Meadowlands. :-)

9. Won't work this time
Only eight players on the whole Pats team were around when Parcells coached here. The Big-Daddy-Coming-Home factor doesn't work. Against Buffalo? Perhaps, but not New England.

13. This is unfortunately true.
The good news for the Cowboys this year is that pretty much everyone in the league sucks. But at least they suck worse than Dallas. Woohoo! :-)

I suppose we'll see once and for all whether it's Parcells' "mojo" or just the general crapitude of the NY teams.

I'm still waiting - what do you want if I'm wrong and what are you willing to pony up just in case Bill really is the MAN?

I'm assuming you mean to get someone new their star, yes? Not just sending money to matcom to help with his bar tab. :-)

Unless the game goes into triple overtime we might even get the donation in before the drive is over on Sunday night. Would be extra spiffy if we were responsible for smacking chimpy in the mouth. :-)

I'll root for triple overtime then so you make it to a tv for the end. :-) It's always so much more fun when the game is close anyway. Have fun in NY and Indiana. Hug kef for me wouldya?

I have to decide if I'm gonna watch the game with my best friend. She has an amazing record of Cowboy losses when we watch the game together but it seems to have gotten better this year. Plus it's for a good cause if her curse works this week.

We're supposed to make cookies this weekend and watch football. (We have very well balanced masculine and feminine sides. :-)) Chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin with cinnamon chips probably. Want me to throw some in if I lose? :-)

24. I admire your loyalty.
I grew up believing that we were supposed to root for both Texas teams. I grew up near Dallas so the Cowboys were "my" team but I always rooted for the Oilers except against Dallas.

For some reason I just can't get excited about the Houston Texans yet.

25. I think it has very little to do with the players that are still there.
It's the principle of the matter. I think he probably couldn't care less who is left - it's a game against his old TEAM, not his old players.

14. Patriots win
and do so pretty easily. The Cowhos are entering the doomsday part of thier schedule and so far when theyve faced signifiacnt opposition they have stunk it up. (eg vs Tampa). I just hope Terry Glenn finds the endzone a few times, she is on my fantasy squad.

So far both the teams New England has lost to were beaten by the Cowboys (Buffalo and Washington).

Wow, that Pats/Bills game now looks like a serious fluke.

Big Cowboys fan. Tuna rules! I've always had respect for the man even when he coached the Giants.

Should be a good game, I won't be making any predictions, it certainly can go either way.

30. The older I get...
the less animosity I feel toward the teams the Cowboys used to mix it up with. I find myself thinking with nostalgia about the Steelers and the Giants and even the Eagles.

Still hate Joe Theisman though.

31. Looks like you've got it covered, VelmaD.
Regrettably I know nothing about New England's team this year. However I do follow the Cowboys very closely. They've been under-rated and over-performing most of the year (it does help, of course, that most of the NFL teams blow this year). The defense will keep it close. I predict that if we have any kind of running game whatsoever, we'll win it easily. It will be close if our offense plays like it did last week.

GO 'BOYS!!!

Edited on Fri Nov-14-03 05:12 PM by VelmaD
and not just because I'll get to needle Will about it publicly if the 'Pokes win. :-)

I think it's gonna be a good way to see if they learned anything from the Tampa Bay game a couple of weeks ago. If they can hang close and maybe even win this one it bodes well for the rest of the season. If they get their heads handed to them things could get ugly from here on out. Much tougher schedule from here on and it would be good to build up some more momentum.

Something is starting to happen. Got hopes for this season.

In the veiled distance, hear the ghostly call of Babe Parilli, Gino Cappaletti, Jimmy Corcoran, and a host of other forgotten veterans.
