I'm the product of a long family history of opposition to that which I have bought into . . .
That isn't to say that Churchill wasn't a valuable leader for Britain. And his phrase Iron-Curtain certainly characterized east-west relations for nearly two generations...

In WWII I would have voted for him without a doubt, as he was one of history's greatest wartime leaders. I do not think his peace time record was my style, although I do admire the man quite a bit. His books are very good.

virtually NONE of us would have supported him or his views..
however in hindsight, its obvious he did the right thing when it came to germany...though he certainly pissed off the pacifists of the time

Voted for him when? In 1932 when Hitler had just started coming to power? In 1938 after the Munich Accords were signed? In 1940 after the invasion of France? In 1945, after WWII?
I might have voted for him in 1938 or 1940, but not in 1945 or 1932.
