Why can't the daily show get any good new guys?
It seems like the last couple don't seem to really get what John's show is about. They don't approach it as a spoof of a serious news show. Like tonight's episode when the guy is naked on the horse. It's not in keeping with the guideline of making it seem like a real news report...only fucking hilarious. These guys seem to think they are there to bring the kinda crappy-ass, dumbed down, Will Farrell style skit comedy we've all come to hate to the show. I guess that's why they don't last.

5. Remember these guys?
A. Whitney Brown and Brian Unger?

They were from the Craig Kilborn days, but they were awesome. I had two VHS tapes worth of Daily Show episodes from that era, and a friend's fucking piece-of-shit VCR ate the tape. I was crushed.

7. Those were the days.
I do like Jon Stewart better, but Kilborn was pretty good too. (Unlike his late night show).

But back then, the interviews they did were hysterical. It was such an unknown show at the time, the people had absolutely no clue it was satire. Now, the show's acquired a name for itself, so I think it's more difficult to set up candid pieces. Now what I mean?

15. He was great.
Though he wasn't a "regular." It was almost as if his interview segments were specials in a way.

A couple that stick out in my mind are the "Leprechauns" one and the crazy lady that thought her dogs were aliens.

Hopefully some day they'll release a DVD...The Daily Show: The Early Years. :D

16. He was awesome!
He was so good at staying in character and not making "the joke" too obvious.

I think he was my all-time favorite.
