I'm not really a hip hop fan, but I will admit that I did like Tupac's music. Only thing is my appreciation for him grew after his untimely death. I don't know if I want to see this movie. Probably will wait until it comes to video/DVD. I don't get this "thug life". It's taken too many talented artists from the black community. RIP, Tupac http://www.accessatlanta.com/movies/content/shared/movies/tupacresurrection.html

1. So have L.A. police officers and record execs. |
|
I don't know if I will see it in the theaters or wait for DVD. It is, from what I hear, a very important piece, and I'll certainly try to see it eventually.
As for "thug life," I think years from now the period will be as fondly remembered as the prohibition-era gangsters, and the cowboy gunslingers before them, if not more so.

2. Don't get it, never got it, will never get it... |

...the gangsta rap fad produces the worst music (if, in the case of present-day huckster Jay-Z, talking over the "Annie" soundtrack can truly be called music), and by far the worst socially, sexually, and intellectually retarded behavior among its culture. This (excuse the pun) white-washed "ghetto saint" was convicted of sexual assault, folks. This isn't the behavior of someone to be admired, is it?
I remember watching the news with a group of kids I counseled way back then, black inner-city kids all, and a piece on PooPac's latest run-in with the law came on. He was smiling, walking the George Jefferson Movin' On Up swagger, and flashing signs at the courtroom cameras. I was inadvertantly a partner to imparting his idiotic message to a bunch of confused, f***ed-up, impressionable kids by virtue of not immediately changing the channel.
So whatever Mama "Yoko Who?" Shakur is selling, I ain't buying. At least, thanks to the influence of her dead son, I can refer to the grieving woman as a "ho" and it's completely okay. Thanks, Poopac!
Now if only Eminem would get in a feud with someone...

Well, Dr.Weird, I give you credit, at least you didn't claim it was a black thing and I wouldn't understand. Still happy he's feeding the earthworms, though. He's not nearly the all-you-can-eat Insect Sizzler that Biggie is, though.

why are you infesting this thread with your hatred?
Not caring for Tupac is ok, but you take it a step further by attacking his mother.
Not caring for Tupac's music is ok, but you take it a step further by attacking Dr. Weird.

8. What was attacking Dr. Weird? |
|
And I was pointing out the hypocricy of Beeatches-n-Hos philosophy when applied to a woman Tupac presumedly loved/respected.
Still, if free speech must conform, okay, Tupac's great. He's the Byron of his era. Long live the convicted rapist.

The playas and the playahaters/
The ones who come in through the door, and the ones who come in through the window.
those with loaded guns, and those who dig.
Those who appreciate art, and the culturally fucking retarded.

4. I would recommend seeing it |
|
It puts "thug life" into some perspective -- at least, Tupac's perspective, anyway. Afeni had real control over the content, so it is more political than many would think.

11. I didn't like him while he was alive |
|
Bear in mind that I was in grade school then. But lately I've been doing research on him and have found some great stuff in his music and what he had to say.
my friends all want to see it so i probably will end up doing so

I dont give a shit what this worthless hypocrite says...
If he was consistent in his political message, I would give a flying fuck but he was just an attention seeking moron who spit whatever came off the top of his head at any given moment.
Steve Harvey is an inspiration to black people. He is real and consistent with his advancement of black people and culture. He has my respect.
TupAc was a fucking low life, drug dealing gang member...thats it. I can show you millions of these idiots.
All this post mortum masturbating over his terrible music is mindblowing.

I don't think he was an attention seeker and niether a moron. He wrote over thousand songs and poems and like most writers they express what they feel at a given moment in a song or on paper, if you have a problem with it so be it.
TupAc was a fucking low life, drug dealing gang member...thats it. I can show you millions of these idiots.
He may have dealed drugs when he was poor like most drug dealers, they do it to make a living, but I am pretty sure he didn't when he was making millions off of movies and songs. There are many people who actually know him who have an opinion that is waaaaay off from your opinion. He was also an activist, I seen a tape of him speaking at a rally when he was young and he was real amazing. As for terrible music, that is just your opinion.
