12. It was fun
Still miss the gay disco I used to go to. I haven't found one near as fun! For even more hilarity, it was called WHAM! (even before the george michael group.)

3. R&T is a pretty good label
Not bad stuff. Some folk, alt-country, rock, etc.

8. Nice!
Several there among my all time favs:

BEEN CAUGHT STEALING - Jane's Addiction
HOW SOON IS NOW? - The Smiths
HIGHER GROUND - Red Hot Chili Peppers(a good cover, although Stevie Wonder's is better)
UNDER THE MILKY WAY - The Church
SO ALIVE - Love and Rockets

MOst of the others are pretty damn good as well! And yeah, Michael Penn never did get much more traction as a "Romeo in black jeans".

9. I miss The Church
Damn what a great band.

The only thing this CD is missing is a hit of Clash. :D

10. MTV did a great coupla volumes
along these lines, for the old version of 120 Minutes. They're both great alt compilations if you can find them. A minor quibble, btw, a few of these songs (the La's, BAD II, and Rembrandts) are actually early 90's, but hair was still plenty big then as well. I think Razor and Tie did a compliation I have at home that has, among other things, Tanika Tinkerim's "Twist in my Sobriety." Also purchased at, like, a General Dollar, along with the Clash VHS "Rude Boy!!!"
