Anybody ever have a hiatal hernia? |
I've had problems with one ever since my son was born. When I feel an attack coming on, basically I have a 20 second window to chug some pepto bismal, or else suffer about 30 minutes of the most excruciating pain I've ever had other than child birth.
I have I'd say 6-12 attacks a year, all different kinds of things set it off, I have to avoid anything tight around my middle - and carry pepto bismal with me every where I go.

1. Unfortunately, hiatal hernias are not uncommon in our society: eating |
sparingly during the two to three hours prior to bedtime helps me as does not overeating at any time. Pepcid of prescription strength might also help.

2. Daily doses of Prilosec have helped me |
I used another drug until Prilosec went generic. I actually have other esophagus issues that I take the meds for, but it has dulled the hernia problem. If you haven't seen a doctor, by all means do. These things can progress - I watched a man die from throat cancer a few years ago and it ain't the way you want to go.
